To provide housing to journalists, the Journalists Co-operative Housing Society at Hyderabad and Secunderabad In Ranga Reddy. The Journalists Co-operative Housing Society developed Kotamraju Rama Rao colony at Banjara Hills on Five acres of land provided by the then Chief Minister, Kasu Brahmananda Reddy at a nominal rate in 1969. About 42 journalists got house sites in 1971 there. The then President of India V.V. Giri inaugurated it. In the second Phase, the then Chief Minister Dr. Marri Chenna Reddy allotted 25 acres of land at Jubilee Hills.
